I think therefore, they don’t like people like me…

Recently, a magazine put out a Top Ten Reasons To Like $4 Gas. Let’s look at this list…

1) Globalized jobs return home- Right! Like the huge companies are going to drop “slave labor” for $10 an hour Americans. Mom & Pop shops will not change the economy, they haven’t yet!

2) Sprawl stalls- With a rise in crime, as more of the cheap-skate rich stay closer to the poor. As the crooks steal from them, since it is so close to the bus stop. Then drug use rises as well, since the rich are now so close to the drug sellers, its so close to the bus stop.

3) Four-day Work weeks- This isn’t too bad; but then which four days? Try getting anything done at City Government during your day off. Oops! Their closed, too. You’ll get moe done at home…Not! You have less time to do it, plus the Salery people will still have to come in on weekends, just work will have the A/C off, since the majority of people aern’t there.

4) Less Pollution- Not! If  #1 happens, companies will produce more. (If they do bring plants back. Insert screaming Environmentalists here).

5) More Frugality- In a Consumer driven society, not if the lobbyists have anything to say about it or Film Producers, or those people’s whose job it is to make us want to buy their crap.

6) Fewer Traffic Deaths- Driving slower, maybe. More drunks because of job lose definitely.

7) Cheaper Insurance- What lower profit, are you nuts!

8 ) Less Traffic- Only in the places that have REAL Public means of transportation and regulate traffic (insert California fruits & nuts here). Most of the US has rolled up their Train tracks for Bike trails. Right, Joe blue-collar is going to ride over 1-mile to work on a bicycle, then think weather…Not! Or have to get up two hours earlier and home two hours later to catch buses that still leave him walking for a mile…Double Not! Don’t even ask him to vote for a tax raise to provide for a bus route or pay for more buses, especially in Florida.

9) More Cops on the beat- Only in big cities, most of South Dakota is an hour anywhere by car…think hot states again on this one (can only take so much off), or the Wisconsin winters (pay more for their clothes)!

10) Less Obesity- Not! Health food costs will go up even more because of shipping; junk food will be cheaper, like it is now.eating “healthy’ costs too much!

All-in-all this list is an attempt to appease and cull the non-thinkers and make the “Don’t Care” rich feel like its ok to rape the land. It was also written for the person in the City; who for the most part has no idea about the world beyond; unless it’s in the NEWS (which is very suspect). But what do you expect from the Entertainment business; their not here for us, their here for them.

Going on an Adventure…

So…

This weekend I’m headed to see a friend. I know that some time next week that I’ll travel to where he works to have lunch and look around that City. I know that some time in the middle of the week he hopes to get a day off so we (his girlfriend is included; I”ll insist) can go some where. I know sometime next week I’ll be going to a Transportation museum. The rest will be for rest; I hope to sit in a comfy place and listen to the wind. Or go some where and watch people go by. I may even help my friend next Saturday work some sort of project around their house…

I know I want to have no schedule and not be expected to coplete anything or be anywhere at a certain time… I think I”ll be able to rest…

Oh yeah… this thing/place…

Forgot to do some updates on what crosses my mind or path…

Let’s see…

Last thing was my standing on a Soapbox about the dumbness around me. Which is actually what the 1st Amendment is about, not showing how “sick” you are. Opps, there I go again…

Last weekend I didn’t have to Upgrade our Telephone System at work. So, I went to an NMRA (National Model Railroaders Association); no it’s not just for retired people and kids. The Model railroad hobby is one of the very few hobbies that can lead you into any other subject. Plus, it allows you to create a place to escape the “pink fuzzy bunnies” (LOL… I figured a good number of you would know that one).

Anyways, it was in Winter Haven, FL. right across the street from Cypress gardens. Now as I didn’t even know I was going to this until the morning of, I missed out on getting into there and some Layout tours. I did have a great chat with several fellows on growing up here and there. Went to a couple Clinics they had; One guy said it was worth making the Clinic for the solve I gave him for his problem. Then I went on my own to a couple Layouts for those that wanted a Self-guided tour. Wonderful people and nice Layouts. Need to figure out where to show my pics… hmmm…

Then I went to the Banquet that evening. More great chats with different people. Show some great displays of diorama’s and various train components (Cars, cabooses, warehouses, etc.). Got a door prize, that was actually in the scale I do. Made some new friends, got some stuff, got some great ideas; all-in-all a great day.

I suppose I could expand on some of the trip, but its another weekend; A long weekend actually (3 days off). So, I’m going to go get to it…. Maybe I’ll update some stuff during my rest.

WE THE PEOPLE…

May 2, 2008 by cowboysirprize

I’m trying to understand something…

All the documents I’ve been taught and read say those of you that are LEGAL Citizens of the United States of America our the governing body. that YOU are in charge of what the government does. Why are we saying we are waiting for the Government to:

1)     Do something about Slave ridden, enormously polluting China.

2)     Do something about the fuel prices; for gas from foreign lands (we don’t use, it all comes from our own fields and processed by our own Refineries).

Is it because we allow the (liberal) TV “news”, the (liberal) “news” papers, or because the NORMAL Hetero, church going, English speaking people have allowed ourselves to be cornered, told its not our place, or become just lazy? We have been told WE have to save the planet, that WE have be tolerant, that WE have to accept illegal stow-aways, that WE have to…

It’s time THEY did THEIR own improving the planet; THEY should change from their deviant ways and seek help for THEIR chemical imbalances (if a homicidal person is found to be fixed by meds, why can’t the other chemically imbalanced)

Now I’m not one to dump on people. I think you have enough junk in your life you don’t need my complaints. So, see this as more a warning, that WE THE PEOPLE need to become THE PEOPLE again.

I’m not sure what  WE can do about it; other then Talk about it, write about, VOTE about it, call about it, DO ABOUT IT!!! YOU figure it out, don’t’ let someone lese speak for you. That’s how WE got here!!

OK… I’m done (pushes soapbox to the side). Time for YOU THE PEOPLE!!!

Hmmm…

I like it. It goes to where must of my statements/blogs will… It also gives that opportunity for those “Redneck” moments we all run into.
